Role Description
As a technical UI/UX designer, I collaborated with the design and programming disciplines at Sabrefish Studios to prototype and implement UI layouts and UX polish for Habit of Force, a turn based tactics game set in space with mechas where you level up with poetry.

Contribution
Implemented description pop-ups with audio for the Combat Actions UI to explain the functionality of certain attacks, abilities, and buttons
Designed and implemented Pre-Combat Phase UI in which players can assign pilots to specific mechs, train and upgrade their pilots and mechs, and heal and repair their pilots and mechs
- Designed the Post-Combat Phase UI in which players can view the enemies and allies that were killed during battle, view the enemies that the player defected to their side, and heal and repair the pilots and mechs that fought during combat
- Implemented user experience polish for visual novel scenes including shadows to indicate which character is speaking and a continue icon to indicate to the player when a character has finished their dialogue
- Ran a playtest using the think aloud protocol to determine the intuitiveness of the Pre-Combat UI and modified design based on playtest feedback
- Designed and implemented a UI prototype for determining the turn order during combat, with the ability to randomize the turn order, reverse the turn order, and swap the turn order positions of two specific mechs
